Keith Haring naci\u00f3 en 1958 en Reading, Pensilvania, y creci\u00f3 en Kutztown, una peque\u00f1a ciudad del mismo estado. Desde joven, mostr\u00f3 un gran inter\u00e9s por el arte y asisti\u00f3 a la Escuela de Artes Visuales de Nueva York. Despu\u00e9s de graduarse, comenz\u00f3 a crear arte urbano en las calles de Nueva York, utilizando el metro y las paredes de los edificios como lienzos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sus primeros trabajos<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A principios de los a\u00f1os 80, Keith Haring comenz\u00f3 a pintar en las calles de Nueva York. Sus primeros trabajos fueron dibujos a tiza en las paredes del metro de la ciudad. Pronto, sus dibujos se convirtieron en una presencia constante en la escena art\u00edstica neoyorquina. Desarroll\u00f3 un estilo \u00fanico y distintivo, caracterizado por l\u00edneas simples y figuras ic\u00f3nicas que se han convertido en s\u00edmbolos de la cultura popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sus dibujos est\u00e1n llenos de figuras humanas estilizadas y elementos geom\u00e9tricos simples. Haring cre\u00eda en el poder del arte para transmitir un mensaje, por ello, uno de los elementos m\u00e1s importantes de su trabajo fue su compromiso social y pol\u00edtico. Cre\u00eda en la democratizaci\u00f3n del arte y quer\u00eda que su trabajo fuera accesible a todas las personas. Adem\u00e1s, se preocupaba por temas como la lucha contra el SIDA, la igualdad de derechos y la paz mundial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la d\u00e9cada de 1980, la carrera de Haring despeg\u00f3 y su trabajo se hizo famoso en todo el mundo. En 1986, abri\u00f3 su propia tienda en Nueva York, llamada Pop Shop, donde vend\u00eda productos que llevaban sus dise\u00f1os y que se han convertido en iconos de la cultura pop. A lo largo de su carrera, Haring tambi\u00e9n colabor\u00f3 con otros artistas famosos como Andy Warhol y Madonna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tr\u00e1gicamente, la vida de Haring se vio truncada en 1990 cuando muri\u00f3 a los 31 a\u00f1os debido a complicaciones relacionadas con el SIDA.  A partir de entonces, su trabajo comenz\u00f3 a centrarse en temas relacionados con la enfermedad y el activismo pol\u00edtico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
